John Dye 
John was born on January 8th, 1817.1 John's father was Shippe Allen Dye and his mother was Elizabeth Goodnight. His paternal grandparents were Avery Dye and Sarah "Sally" Puckett. He had four brothers and a sister, named William, Henry, Jacob Goodnight, Isaac C. and Sarah Bellows. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 61 on February 22nd, 1878.1 General Notes
