Richard Earl was born on September 24th, 1917 in Edinburgh, Johnson Co., IN. Richard Earl's father was Ollie Lee Despain and his mother was Grace Melinda Phelps. His paternal grandparents were James Despain and Nancy Francis Thompson. He had a brother and a sister, named Glenn Dale and Thelma Louise. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 1 on February 15th, 1919 in Edinburgh, Johnson Co., IN.-
