Sir Marmaduke Darell

Marmaduke was born in 1290 in Sessay, Yorkshire, England.¹ Marmaduke's father was Sir William Darell and his mother was Joan de Holtby. His paternal grandparents were Sir Marmaduke Darell and Helwisa de Insula; his maternal grandparents were William de Holtby and Beatrice. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John, William and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 54 in 1344.¹
