Clarence Carl was born on September 13th, 1885 in Tennessee, USA. Clarence Carl's father was William G Costen and his mother was Elizabeth S King. His paternal grandparents were John Harvey Costen and Elizabeth Goldsby. He had four brothers named John R, Charley, Albert Judson and William G. He was the second oldest of the five children.
