Maria Comnenus 
Maria was born in 1048 in Constantinople, Byzantine Empire.1 Maria's father was Emperor Ioannis Comnenus of Byzantium and her mother was Anna Dalassena. Her paternal grandparents were Manolis Michael Manuel Comnenus and Anna; her maternal grandparents were Alexios Pharo and Dalassene. She had a brother and a sister, named Alexius and Theodora. She was the oldest of the three children.
