Sarah was born in 1668 in Henrico Co., Va..1   Sarah's father was Robert Woodson and her mother was Elizabeth Ferris.  Her paternal grandparents were John Woodson and Sarah Winston; her maternal grandfather was Richard Ferris. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, Richard, Joseph, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Judith and Mary.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.1
