1   Seth's father was David Tinsley and his mother was Mahala Cox. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Clayborne, Nathaniel, Angeline Sorrel, Nancy, Mary, Harriet (Vincent), Mahala, Martha (Pelly) (Vincent) and Parmelia (Carson).1
