Mary was born in 1832.1   Mary's father was David Tinsley and her mother was Mahala Cox. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Clayborne, Nathaniel, Seth, Angeline Sorrel, Nancy, Harriet (Vincent), Mahala, Martha (Pelly) (Vincent) and Parmelia (Carson).1
