David was born in 1834.1   David's father was Burr S. Nash and his mother was Harriet Chubbs.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Nash and Mary Squire. He had a brother and six sisters, named Joseph Burr, Harriet, Mary Ann, Sarah, Mary Ann, Caroline Ann and Louisa.  He was the oldest of the eight children.1
