Myrtle Dorothy was born about 1883 in Beaufort Dist., SC.1 Myrtle Dorothy's father was John Elias Mew and her mother was Sarah Ann Winifred Bowers. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel K. Mew and Eliza Maria Dozier. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William Aiken, John McRolly, Joseph Frederick, Vera Clementine, Eliza Rebecca, Olive Dell, Alma Blanche and Annie Augusta. She was the youngest of the nine children.1 -
