George Holcombe 
George was born in 1548 in Banscombe.1 George's father was Ellis Holcombe and his mother was Elizabeth Sydenham. His paternal grandparents were Charles Holcombe and Jane Holcombe; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Sydenham. He had six brothers and a sister, named Tristram, Nicholas, Thomas, Robert, John, Walter and Jane. He was the third youngest of the eight children.1 -
