Martha was born in 1760.1   Martha's father was John Hiett and her mother was Margaret Stephens.  Her paternal grandparents were John Hiett and Mary Smith. She had ten brothers and seven sisters, named George, John, Joseph, William, Evan, James, Jonathon, Timothy, Ebon, Evan, Catherine, Margaret, Ann, Sarah, Ruth, Phebe and Mary.1
