1   Mary's father was Peter Godfry and her mother was Mary Brown.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Brown and Mary Unknown. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Peter, James, Andrew, Mary, Margaret, Joanne, Sarah and Elizabeth.1
