1   Lydia's father was Thomas Burgess and her mother was Esther Richmond.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Burgess and Lydia Gaunt. She had a brother and three sisters, named Edward, Deborah, Esther and Abigail. She had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, Jacob, John, Nathaniel, Mary, Martha, Rebecca, Martha and Mercy.1
