Anna Catherina was born on November 10th, 1789 in Hoelken, Westfalen, Preussen.1   Anna Catherina's father was Peter Caspar Kotting and her mother was Maria Catharina Flasdieck.  Her paternal grandparents were Hans Peter Arnold Kotting and Anna Christina Karweg; her maternal grandparents were Peter Caspar Flasdieck and Maria Catharina Flockenhaus. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Heinrich Peter, Johannes Caspar, Peter Gottfried, Johannes Peter, Peter David, Peter Caspar, Maria Elisabeth and Catharina Wilhelmina.  She died at the age of 85 in 1874.1
