Peter Caspar was born on May 19th, 1755 in Schwelm, Westfalen, Preussen.1   Peter Caspar's father was Hans Peter Arnold Kotting and his mother was Anna Christina Karweg.  His paternal grandfather was Diedrich Koetting. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Heinrich Peter, Johann Caspar, Johann Peter, Heinrich Peter, Anna Catharina, Anna Catharina Elisabeth, Maria Catharina and Anna Margaretha Elisabeth.  He died at the age of 82 in 1837.1
