Charlotte Augusta Matilda was born on September 29th, 1766 in Buckingham House, St. James Park, London, England. Charlotte Augusta Matilda's father was George III Hanover and her mother was (Sophia) Charlotte. Her paternal grandparents were Friedrich Louis Hanover Prinz von Wales and Augusta von Sachsen-Gotha; her maternal grandparents were Charles Louis Frederick and Elizabeth von Sachsen-Hildburghausen Albertin. She had nine brothers and five sisters, named George IV von Hanover-Kg, Friedrich, William IV Henry, Edward Augustus, Ernest Augustus lI Kg.von Hanover-H. v., Augustus Friedrich, Adolphus von Cambridge, Octavius, Alfred, Augusta Sophia, Elizabeth Hanover von Great, Mary, Sophia and Amelia. She was the fourth oldest of the fifteen children. She died at the age of 62 on October 6th, 1828 in Ludwigsburg.-
