Newton A was born on May 24th, 1812 in Red Oak, Brown, OH.1 Newton A's father was David Devore and his mother was Eleanor Alice Mann. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Devore and Sarah Decker; his maternal grandparents were Christopher Mann and Ann. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Peter Mann, Abner, Nicholas Fernando, David G, Elhanan W, Anna M, Sarah, Mary (Polly) and Emily. He was the second youngest of the ten children.1 -
