Guillaume was born about 1083 in Of Bar-Le-Duc, Meuse, France.1 Guillaume's father was Thierry II (Dietrich Bar & Montbeliar and his mother was Ermentrude von Burgund. His paternal grandparents were Louis Comte von Montbelliard and Sophie Comtesse von Bar; his maternal grandparents were Guillaume II Count von Burgund-Macon and Stephanie De Longwy. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Renaud I Count, Louis, Thierry II Count, Frederic, Etienne, Agnes De, Miss and Gunthilde. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.1 -
