Russell D. was born on February 20th, 1841 in Elbert County, Georgia, USA.1 Russell D.'s father was James Early Brown and his mother was Nancy E. McCurry. His paternal grandparents were John Brown and Mary (Polly) Strathman; his maternal grandparents were John G. McCurry and Sarah McCurry. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John Andrew, William Isom, James Early, Luther M., Thomas Vandiver, Mary H., Sarah C. and Frances (Fannie) M.. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 60 on December 24th, 1901 in Hart County, Georgia, USA.1 -
