Bartha was born about 1334 in Slot Hoef, Egmond-Binnen, Noord Holland, Netherlands. Bartha's father was Jan I Heer van Egmond and her mother was Guyote van Amstel. Her paternal grandparents were Wouter II Heer van Egmond and Beatrijs van De Doortoge; her maternal grandfather is Arend van Amstel and her maternal grandmother was Marie De Avesnes. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Arend, Willem, Albrecht, Gerrit, Beatrijs, Catharina, Antonia, Elisabeth, Griete and Maria. She was the second oldest of the eleven children. She died in 1413.-
