Johannes Nicholaus was born about 1705 in Diedendorf, Alsace, France. Johannes Nicholaus' father was Hans Ulrich Schneider and his mother was Anna Carharina Rohr. His paternal grandfather was Joseph Schneider; his maternal grandfather is Peter Rohr. He has seven brothers and four sisters, named Otto Johann, Christin, Josephus, Johann Friedrich, Johannes, Christian, Johann Daniel, Julia Maria, Margaretha, Maria Magdalena and Anna Ottilia. He is the fourth oldest of the twelve children.General Notes

Believe he was a witness to Nicholas Kern's will, Dec. 28, 1748.
Arrived aboar d the "Robert & Alice" 11 Sept. 1738. Per "New World
Immigrants II, Germanic Immigrants in PA. Ship Lists", p 13 "..he was
apparently a well educated man, as he wrote a fine hand. He settled in
what is now Lehigh County, where he w as a Justice of the Peace in
Colonial times,"
Per Eighteenth Century Emigran ts, p 446, he was a weaver at Diedendorf.
