John Napier 
John was born about 1480 in Scotland. John's father was Archibald Napier and his mother was Margaret Campbell. His paternal grandparents were John Napier and Elizabeth Menteith; his maternal grandparents were Colin Campbell and Janet Stewart. He had a brother named Alexander. He had two half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Alexander, George, Catherine, Isabella, Margaret, Marion, Janet and Elizabeth. He died in Dorsetshire, England.General Notes

A little church in the Dorset village of Swyre contains a placard commemor
ating the ancestry of a John Napier and the fact that he was descended fr
om the Earls of Lennox. It is said that this John Napier migrated with h
is brother,Sir Alexander Napier and settled in Dorset in the late 15th cen
tury. We have no dates for him other than that which says that he was ali
ve 1507 and married to Anne Russell. John (some records say James) suppose
dly supplied the local Abbey with fish.
