Randall was born about 1522.  Randall's father was Randall Grosvenor and his mother was Ann Charlton.  His paternal grandparents are Randall Grosvenor and Margaret Mainwaring; his maternal grandparents are Richard Charlton and Anne Mainwaring. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Geffrey, Catherine, Robert, Henry, Elizabeth and Margery.  He is the second youngest of the seven children.
