Alan was born about 1050 in Dol-de-Bretagne, Ille-et-Vilaine, France. Alan's father was Alan Fleance and his mother is Nesta verch Gruffydd. He had three brothers named Robert, Flaad and Rhiwallon. He was the youngest of the four children. He died in 1097 in Jerusalem, Palestine.General Notes
