John was born about 1564 in Wilcot Parish, England.  John's father was Nicholas Chandler and his mother was Edyth Spratt.  His paternal grandfather is John Chandler. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Swithin, Margaret, Alice and Martha.  He is the oldest of the six children.
