John was born about 1262 in of, St Briavel Castl, St Briavel, Gloucestershire. John's father was Edward Plantagenet and his mother was Marguarite Capet. His paternal grandparents were Henry Plantagenet and Eleanor of Provence; his maternal grandparents were Philipe Capet and Marie De Lusignan. He had two brothers named Thomas and Edmund. He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Edward, Margaret, Joan and Elizabeth. He died on November 25th, 1324.General Notes
