Eugene was born on August 27th, 1873 in Fayette County Iowa. Eugene's father was Timothy Sargent and his mother was Delinda Fox. His paternal grandparents were Timothy Chase Sargent and Mercy Church. He had a brother and a sister, named Henry and Angelia. He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother and six half-sisters, named Elmer, Elizabeth, Delinda, Phoebe, Susie, Stella and Mary Ann. He died at the age of 73 on August 9th, 1947 in Quimby, Cherokee County Iowa. He was buried in Quimby, Cherokee County Iowa.-
