Ashley Elwood was born on March 6th, 1867 in Potton, Brome, Quebec, Canada. Ashley Elwood's father was Simon Sargent and his mother was Eunice A. Esty. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Sargent and Susan Aiken. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named James Monroe, Daniel Madison, Franklin Simon, Oscar Eugene, Chauncy Norris, Jesse Mark, Clarence G, Cora A. and Abbie E.. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 61 on April 1st, 1928.-
