Dorothy was born on February 27th, 1796 in Sutton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Dorothy's father was Abraham Peaslee and her mother is Martha Bean. Her paternal grandparents were David Peaslee and Rachel Straw. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Benaiah, Abraham, John, Hannah, Phebe, Martha, Polly, Sarah and Susanna. She is the third youngest of the ten children.-
