Reuben Perez Hillard 
Reuben Perez was born on April 2nd, 1846 in Chatfield, Crawford County, Ohio. Reuben Perez's father was Daniel Hillard and his mother was Martha McDonald. His paternal grandparents were Peris Hillard and Clarrisa Kimball. He had a brother and two sisters, named James Selby, Matilda Clarissa and Martha Jane. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 45 on December 25th, 1891 in Portage, Wood County, Ohio. He was buried in Mt. Reuben Perez was a lifelong farmer, taking over the original homestead and prospering in his chosen vocation. He was an active manin the community, where was highly respected. For several years heserved as trustee of the Township., and was offered other offices, but declined to serve, preferring to give all his attention to his own business interests. RP and his wife, Mary, were both members of the Methodist Protestant Church, and in political affiliation, Reuben wasa Republican, He was a man of naturally broad intellect, and a close observer, keeping himself well informed on current events. He died of typhoid pneumonia.
