William H. was born on February 4th, 1816 in Henniker, New Hampshire. William H.'s father was Enoch Gordon and his mother was Lydia Sargent. His maternal grandfather was Jonathan Sargent and his maternal grandmother is Molly Lucas. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Jonathan S., Enoch Monroe, Edward, Thomas H., Thirza T. and Julianna A.. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 68 on October 28th, 1884 in Thornton, New Hampshire.-
