Orson was born in 1841 in Quebec, Canada. Orson's father was Abner Colby and his mother was Mary Louisa Lindsay. His paternal grandparents are Abner Colby and Elizabeth Ford. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Charles Grandison, Milo J., Judson, Edward James, George, William Oscar, Herbert, Orissa Elsameda, Althera M., Susan Climera and Amaretta P.. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 59 in 1900 in Fairbault, Minnesota.-
