Corliss Thomas was born on May 29th, 1879 in Barnum, Crawford County, Wisconsin. Corliss Thomas' father was William Colby and his mother was Eliza Clarisa Eddy. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Corliss Colby and Sarah Ann Pettigrove. He had two brothers and a sister, named Claude Christian, Guy W. and Hattie C.. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 40 on December 16th, 1919 in Thorp, Clark County, Wisconsin.-
