Amos Colby 
Amos was born on April 22nd, 1834 in Bog District, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Amos' father was Willoughby Colby and his mother was Betsey Wheeler. His paternal grandparents were James Colby and Susannah Stewart. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Irad, Willaby, Lucinda and Betsey Ann. He is the second oldest of the five children. He had four half-brothers named George, Moses, Erie and Irad.-
