Her paternal grandparents were Nelson Chatfield and Hannah Ward. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Luther Mckay, Hurley Rosell, Jaudon Benjamin, Carl S, Pearl Elizabeth and Marjorie Belle. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 59 on August 19th, 1962 in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri.
