His paternal grandparents were Alvah Bills and Julia Sheldon. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Bills, Clifton Francis, Gladys and Maude. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 94 on August 6th, 1982 in Mio, Oscoda, Michigan.-
