Herbert James was born on July 24th, 1877 in Oxford Twp, Oakland County, MI. Herbert James' father was James Gooding Adams and his mother was Ophelia F. Ball. His paternal grandparents were Leonard Adams and Martha Morrill. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Lucius Edwin, Jr. Adams Gooding, Myrta Lenora, Harriet Augusta and Edith Viola. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 86 on May 12th, 1964 in Lake City, Wabasha County, MN. Herbert ADAMS' obituary also appeared in the Ishpeming, Michigan paper, The Mining Journal (Marquette, Michigan) on 20 May 1964.
Herbert is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake City - Section E, Lot 44, Plot 6.

Wedding announcement appeared in the Iron Mountain Press on Thursday, 20 June 1907 (page 1, col 5). Wedding took place at the home of Catherine Bright's uncle, William F. MORRISSEY.
The Wedding Announcement read:
PRETTY WEDDING
Adams of Globe, Arizona were married yesterday morning at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Morrissey, 501 Grand Boulevard by Rev. N. H. Nosbisch. Miss Bright recently held a position as teacher in the public schools of Ishpeming and was popular in society. Mr. Adams was formerly head accountant in the office of the Cleveland-Cliffs County at Ishpeming, but now holds a responsible position with the Globe Consolidating County at Globe, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Adams left last evening for Detroit, to visit Mr. Adams' parents, and from there will go to Butte, Montana to visit the brides' sister Mrs P. F. Small thence to Globe, Arizona via San Francisco and Salt Lake City.
