Eleanor Lackland Countess of was born in 1215 in Gloucester.  Eleanor Lackland Countess of's father was King John Lackland of England and her mother was Countess Isabelle Of Angouleme.  Her paternal grandparents are Henry and Eleanor of Aquitaine; her maternal grandfather was William V Tallifer and her maternal grandmother is Alix de Courtenay. She had two brothers and two sisters, named King Henry III of, Earl of Cornwall, Joan Lackland of and Isabella Lackland Princess of.  She is the youngest of the five children. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Aymer de Valence Bishop of, Guy, Geoffrey, William, Agnés, Alice, Marguerite and Isabelle.

‌Eleanor Lackland Countess of and Simon were married in a religious ceremony in January 1238.  They had five sons and a daughter, named Henry, Simon the younger, Amaury, Guy, Richard and Eleanor.
