Amos was born in 1860 in NY. Amos' father was Thomas Hopkins and his mother was Julia G. Palmer. His maternal grandfather is Amos Palmer and his maternal grandmother was Martha. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Stephen, Wellington A, Sirenus, Albert, Sarah, Effie Serena, Francis Alvira, Effie and Betsy. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He had a half-brother named Fred R. He died at the age of 9 in 1869 in NY.-
