John was born about 1730 in Randolph County, North Carolina. John's father was Jeremiah York and his mother was Sarah Seymour. His paternal grandparents were Jeremiah York and Unknown; his maternal grandparents were John Seymour and Maiden name may not be Seymour. He had eleven brothers and a sister, named Semore, Henry B., Joseph, Thomas, James, Aaron, William, Bartholomew, Jeremiah, Jesse, Elijah and Elizabeth. He died on May 11th, 1758 in Randolph County, North Carolina.-
