Robert FitzRichard was born in 1064 in Tunbridge, Leicestershire, England. Robert FitzRichard's father was Earl Richard FitzGilbert de Clare and his mother was Rohese Giffard. His paternal grandfather was Count Gilbert ("Crispin") of Brionne and his paternal grandmother is Constance de Eu; his maternal grandparents were Earl Walter Giffard I of Buckingham and Agnes Ermentrude Flaitel. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Osbern, Richard FitzRichard, Gilbert FitzRichard, Ronais, Avice, Rohese and Adeliza or Ann. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 72 in 1136 in Frome, Somerset, England. He was buried in Priory, St. Neot's, Huntingdonshire, England.-
