Catherine's father is William C Cogar Sr. and her mother is Elizabeth Kingery. Her paternal grandfather is Peter Coger and her paternal grandmother was Mary Polly McElwain; her maternal grandparents were Peter Kingery Jr. and Catharine ("Katy") Seabold. She was an only child.
