He had nine brothers and six sisters, named Merghin Stevense, Coert Stephense, Stevenson (Van Voorhees), Cheri Stevense, Johannes Coerte, Lucas Stevense, Jans Stevense, Albert Stevense, Abraham Stevense, Mergin Stevense, Hendrickje Stevense, Aaltje (Aelte) Stevense, Altje Stevense, Jannetje Stevense and Hendrickje Stevense.
