Robert Foote 
Robert was born in 1553 in Royston, Cambridgeshire, England. Robert's father was John Robert Foote and his mother was Helen Warren. His paternal grandfather was James John Foote and his paternal grandmother is Helen Warren; his maternal grandparents were Richard Warren and Alice Jenawaye. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Alice and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother named Jr. Foote. He died at the age of 55 on February 15th, 1608 in London, Middlesex, England.General Notes
As is commonly known, a Yeoman in old England was a Freeholder, nextund
er the rank of Gentleman, and in the early times a person who owned a sma
ll estate with attached lands. Robert of Shalford was such a man. He own
ed property in both towns of Shalford and Royston. He was born the s
on of Robert Foote of Royston sometime before 1558 AD. He died about 160
8. He was the brother of John Foote of London, and the father of Nathani
el Foote "The Settler."

"to the poor in the parish twenty shillings. To the poor in Wethersfield t
wenty shillings. To my well beloved wife Joan, during her natural life, a
ll such yearly rent as to me is reserved ou of my lease of certain tenemen
ts which I hold for divers years yet enduring by the grant of Sir Robert C
hester knight and lying and being in the town of Royston, the yearly re
nt whereof to me reserved is at this present eight pounds. I give her al
so one annuity of four pounds to be paid during her natural life by my s
