RICHARD was born in 1244.1   RICHARD's father was JOHN FITZGEOFFREY and his mother was ISABEL BIGOD.  His paternal grandparents were GEOFFREY FITZPIERS and AVELINE De CLARE; his maternal grandparents were HUGH BIGOD and Maud Marshall. He had a brother and three sisters, named JOHN, AVELINA, ISABEL and JOAN.  He was the second youngest of the five children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named WALTER, MARGARET (MARGERY), MAUD (MATILDA) and Maud.  He died at the age of 53 in 1297.1
