James Curtiss 
James was born on September 15th, 1641 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticutt. James' father was Dr.Thomas Curtiss and his mother was Elizabeth (Wid) Salmon. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Curtiss and Mary Camp Shelly; his maternal grandfather is Christopher Salmon and his maternal grandmother was Ms. Christopher Salmon. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Sgt. John, Joseph, Samuel, Isaac, Samuel, Ruth and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 49 on September 25th, 1690 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticutt.General Notes
Imprisoned with his brother Joseph and two
other boys for stealing melons, by the Gen.
Ct. ( mainly because the boasted of the
"crime".(The Gen.Ct. was repramanded by
the Governor for exess zeal in the pusuit of
justice.)
