Permelia D. was born in 1799 in Amherst Co., VA, USA. Permelia D.'s father was John Hansard and her mother was Caroline Rucker. Her maternal grandparents were Ambrose Rucker and Mary Tinsley. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John W., Ambrose R., Archellus B., Isaac R., Sophia, Mary T. and Caroline M.. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died before 1858.-
