Andrew Jackson MD was born on April 2nd, 1841 in ShelbyCo,KY.1 Andrew Jackson MD's father was Lewis Wilcoxson and his mother was Nancy Miles. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Wilcoxson and Sarah 'Sallie' Faulkner; his maternal grandfather was Samuel Jr. Miles. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James Flournoy, Israel Putnam, Warren, Amanda and Sarah Ann. He was the youngest of the six children. He had two half-brothers named John Lewis and Quinn David. He died at the age of 84 on February 9th, 1926. He was buried in 1926 in Denver,DenverCo,CO.General Notes
The National Archives records show that he served in the Confederate
Army as a Private in Jessee's Battalion, was captured by the Union
Army in Louisville, KY on November 14, 1862 and was sent, as a
prisoner of war, to Cairo,IL on November 18, 1862. He was shipped to
Cairo on the steamboat Belle Creole. At the time he was 21 years old,
stood 5' 8" tall, had grey eyes, dark hair and a light complexion.
