Maude Alice was born on April 3rd, 1885 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky. Maude Alice's father is William A. Underwood and her mother is Ginsy Martin. Her paternal grandfather was Abraham Hiram Underwood and her paternal grandmother is Mary Roark. She had six brothers and a sister, named Andrew Jackson, Rufus, George Alfred, Ollie, Ellis W., Matson and Nora. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. She had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named John Thornton, Thomas A., William H., Mary Jane, Sarah, Elizabeth G. and Nancy Ann. She died at the age of 93 in 1978 in Campbellsville,Kentucky.-
